PARIS — Oxford Hills/Buckfield Adult Education has announced upcoming course offerings.
Computer Keyboarding with Nancy Tyrrell: 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays beginning March 6 for five weeks. Students will learn to use the computer keyboard more efficiently by using correct keyboarding techniques in a stress-free atmosphere. Tuition: $39.
Lazy Vegetable Gardening with Chris & Paula Easton: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 6. Students will learn a different way to garden that will cut down on the time it takes for gardening tasks. Tuition: $20.
Maine Driving Dynamics with Ed Naples: 6 to 8:30 p.m. Mondays beginning March 6 for two weeks. This course covers collision-avoidance techniques and safety tips to help you become a better driver. Those completing the course will receive a three-point credit on their license record. Tuition: $40; seniors, $10.
Hatha Yoga: Beginners to Intermediate with Darleen Bevans: 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays beginning March 7 for six weeks. Within a playful, supportive environment, students will learn meditation, breath control and guided visualization with a mantra offered in each session. Tuition: $54.
Tablets 101 with Joe Blakey: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 7. Participants will get the most from their tablets and iPads in order to connect with family and to stay productive on the go. Tuition: $5.
Building Confidence with Chris Davis: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning March 8 for three weeks. Self-confidence is important in almost every aspect of life, yet many struggle to find it. Students will learn concrete tools to help build confidence and keep it strong. Tuition: Free.
Intro to Jin Shin Jyustu with May Scott: 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning March 8 for five weeks. Jin Shin Jyustu is an ancient Japanese study focused on energy flow patterns of the body and how they affect one’s health.
Reiki Basics for Self Treatment with Chris and Paula Easton: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 9. Students will learn to work with the body’s subtle energy to bring a sense of calm and peace to themselves. Reiki is an ancient hands-on healing modality. Tuition: $20.
Career Exploration Workshop with Denise Dumont and Eli Merrill: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 15. Students will take the Choices Interest Inventory online and discover their career interest categories and possible future occupations. Tuition: Free
MS Excel Spreadsheet with Teresa Drag: 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays for four weeks beginning March 15. Students will learn to use MS Excel to create and format spreadsheets, create reports and charts, do calculation within a spreadsheet as well as using functions and formulas. Tuition: $45.
Eating Better on a Budget with Sarah Carter: 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays beginning March 22 for four weeks. SNAP-Ed nutrition educator from Healthy Oxford Hill Sarah Carter will teach students skills needed to shop smarter, cook healthier and live an active lifestyle while on a limited budget. Tuition: Free.
Welding with Rudy Danforth: 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays beginning March 28 for seven weeks. This level one basic arc welding (stick) course is designed for the hobbyist as well as those who plan on entering the welding profession. Tuition: $149.
