LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women has announced its March programming. Programs are from 10 to 11:30 a.m. unless otherwise noted.
Peasant Pantry Café: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 9. The Peasant Pantry Café features one-pot sustainable meals from different countries. This month, the dish will serve an Irish dish called Colcannon, potato cabbage casserole. The meal is open to the public at no charge, and donations are welcome.
ACE’s Resiliency Workshop: Live, Laugh, and Love: Friday, March 10. Workshops around ACE’s — Adverse Childhood Experiences — and adult resiliency. Continues for six weeks, every other week. Sign-up and commitment are required.
Book Making: Tuesday, March 14. The Center will host Sarah Shepley to instruct on book-making with art paper.
Learn to Knit: Wednesday, March 15. The Center’s companions will teach how to knit simple and easy items.
Women’s Healing Circle: Thursdays, March 16 and March 23. The Center will continue to host Dr. Maryam Mermay as she leads a circle intended for women seeking to heal the loss of a loved one, a relationship, an ability, one’s home, one’s sense of self or any other source(s) of grief through a lifegiving and playful connection with the arts.
St. Patrick’s Day Celebration: Friday, March 17, 10 a.m. to noon. The Center will make Irish soda bread and sing.
Women’s Rights in History: Tuesday, March 21. The Center will host Ann Gass as she presents the women’s suffrage movement (the right to vote in elections).
Bingo: Tuesday, March 28.
Art Van: Wednesday, March 29.
March Birthday Celebration: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 29. March birthdays will be celebrated.
Clothing giveaway: Thursday, March 30. The center will hold a clothing give-away during this daylong event.
The center’s hours are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Fridays. All women are welcome; programs are offered free, and no appointments are needed. Oatmeal breakfasts are available daily, and the center has a shower.
The Center will be closed when Lewiston-Auburn schools are closed due to inclement weather.
