LEWISTON — The Public Theatre presents the East Coast premiere of the delightful romantic comedy, “Wrong for Each Other,” playing March 17-26.

Do opposites really attract? When a chance meeting in a restaurant reunites a previously mismatched couple, sparks are ignited as they flash back through the highs and lows of their past relationship with the wisdom of hind-sight.

“It’s a perfect date night for anyone who has ever gone through the joys and tribulations of building and sharing a life together,” says director Christopher Schario.  “Imagine the wit and charm of ‘Mad about You’ mixed with the spice of Sam and Diane from ‘Cheers’” says Schario.

Written by the author of last season’s box office hit “The Ladies Foursome,” playwright Norm Foster (often referred to as the Canadian Neil Simon), has once again written a funny, touching and entertaining comedy to keep us laughing until spring arrives.

Playing the on-again, off-again, on-again lovers are professional actors Jason Cadieux as Rudy and Lee Fitzpatrick as Norah.

The Public Theatre’s popular Wine Down Thursday program will continue on Thursday, March 23, with a free, pre-show wine-tasting held in the theater lobby beginning at 6:30 p.m, hosted by Rails Restaurant.

“Wrong for Each Other “will be performed at The Public Theatre, 31 Maple St., March 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, 26. Show times are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m., with an added Saturday matinee on March 25 at 3 p.m. For tickets visit www.thepublictheatre.org or call 782-3200.
