Star Teachings of TEA
TURNER — A community gathering of Star Teachings of TEA dedicated to practicing kindness will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19, at 419 Turner Center Road, Route 117.
The gathering will be in circle format where everyone is invited to share their stories, wisdom and questions in the space of openness and receiving.
‘The Masks of War’ presentation
MONMOUTH — Monmouth Academy’s U.S. Studies classes will present “The Masks of War” from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 20, in the Monmouth Academy Cafeteria.
In order to study about 20th and 21st century U.S. wars, students in Mrs. Gray’s U.S. Studies classes did art and research projects after interviewing a living war veteran.
The goal was for the students to depict the physical, emotional and spiritual journeys of war for these veterans.
The public is invited to tour the gallery of projects.
LPL Try It Tuesday series
LEWISTON — Lewiston Public Library will offer Try It Tuesday, a monthly, adult hands-on makerspace STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) series on Tuesdays beginning March 21.
Classes will take on new projects that will keep adults learning.
The first class will have students create mason jar string art. String art is a simple and easy way to create something personable, interesting and unique.
Supplies and materials will be provided. The program is free and open to adults 18 and older. Registration is required.

Gluten-free bread-making class
LEWISTON — The Ark & Olive Branch Cafe will offer “Super Healthy Gluten Free Bread Making” class presented by Rick Kuntz, making breads, muffins and more.
The class will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at the cafe, 791 Lisbon St.

AUBURN — The High Street Food Pantry is seeking donations of children’s books for infants through teens.
