This is in regard to Poland High School’s “restorative circles” (Sun Journal, March 12).
Awww — what will Assistant Principal Patrick Flynn try next, group hugs and an award for participating?
I have a novel idea: Have the student write a few hundred times on the blackboard, chalkboard, whiteboard (or whatever board it’s called nowadays) what he or she did to deserve detention. That would save taxpayers the cost of the extra teacher, social worker and whomever else Flynn believes should be there to tsk-tsk-tsk.
On the “rare” occasion that I had detention, I wasn’t allowed to sleep or do anything but crack a book.
