BRUNSWICK — Norene R. Foy, 70, of Topsham passed away Wednesday, March 8, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
Norene was born April 14, 1946, in Bainbridge Island, Wash., to Orville LeRoy and Merrill Alice (Woodworth) Spinharney. Norene grew up on Kodiak Island, Alaska. Kodiak is where Norene met her husband, Patrick E. Foy, while he was stationed there with the U.S. Navy. They were married in Kodiak on Dec. 19, 1964.
She and her husband lived in various states in the United States during his career in the Navy, eventually settling in Topsham. Norene had worked more than 30 years for Cumberland Farms.
In her spare time, she loved to read and do puzzles. Norene was very proud of her Native-American heritage and instilled those beliefs in her two sons.
She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Patrick E. Foy; and her best friend of 36 years, Mary E. Craig.
Norene is survived by her sons, James P. Foy and companion, Shannon Parks, of Mechanic Falls, and Timothy M. Foy and his longtime partner, George F. Schlosser III of Topsham; a grandson, of whom she was so very proud, Derek J. Foy of Lewiston; her brothers, Roger H. Newman of Shelton, Wash., and LeRoy E. Spinharney of Crystal City, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Nan Lamb and family of California; and also by her other children, Sheryl, David and Timothy.
