Superhero party at the Green Ladle
LEWISTON — The Green Ladle will host a superhero party from 8 to 10 a.m. and from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 8, at 156 East Ave.
Spiderman will speak abut bullying awareness. Children and parents are welcome to come dressed as their favorite superhero. There will be a superhero parade, a 50/50, and an official superhero certificate signed by Spiderman for each child to take home.
The 8 a.m. session includes a hot breakfast buffet. Breakfast will not be served at the 10:30 a.m. session.

Jam session in Auburn
AUBURN — The Park Avenue Pickers will hold a monthly jam session at 6:15 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month, at the Auburn United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave.
The next session will be April 11.
The jam session is open to all musicians.

Lakeside, OES, officer installation
WALES — Lakeside Chapter No. 60, Order of the Eastern Star, will hold meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at the Grange-Masonic Hall, 322 Centre Road, for its 118th installation of officers.
Cathy Hunnewell was elected worthy matron and Stanton Leighton, worthy patron. The installing suite is composed of Stephanie J. Dupal, past grand matron of Maine, installing grand matron; Newell H. Farrington, general grand Chapter Committee member youth and past grand patron of Maine, installing grand patron; Corley Anne Byras, past grand matron, grand secretary emeritus, installing grand chaplain; Josephine V. Dupal, PM, installing grand marshal; and Eleanor V. Peterson, district deputy grand matron of District No. 4, installing grand organist.
There will be refreshments provided by the officers after the meeting.
Women officers will be in white gowns, and men will wear black suits or tuxedos.
The next meeting on May 9 will honor mothers.
IHM Golden Age Club to meet
AUBURN — Immaculate Heart of Mary Golden Age Club will resume meetings at 11 a.m. on the second Tuesday of the month, beginning April 11 at Sacred Heart Church.
The club will gather for a social time from 11 a.m. to noon, and lunch will be served at noon, followed by the installation of officers and a brief meeting at 1 p.m.
Salmon pie will be served. The cost is $6, and reservations are required.

Dictionaries for third-graders
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Elks Lodge No. 371 with Rep. Betty-Ann Sheats participated in the nationwide Dictionary Project on March 20 by donating dictionaries to Mrs. Davins’ third-grade class at East Auburn Elementary.
Bridge club lists winners
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners of the quarterly club championship on March 27 were, first place, Tom Goodwin and Paul Sherman; second, Rosemarie Goodwin and George Dumas; and, third, Jeanine Kivus and Bob Kirchherr.
Winners of the club championship on March 28 were, first, Paul Sherman and Mike True; second, Jeanine Kivus and Hazel Glazier; and, first in B, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. Partners are always guaranteed, and all bridge players are welcome.
