LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women has announced its April programming. All morning programs are from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Winter weather reminder: The Center will be closed when Lewiston-Auburn schools are closed due to inclement weather. The Center will also be closed Friday April 14, and Monday, April 17, for Easter.
Peasant Pantry Café: 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 6.
The Peasant Pantry Café features one-pot sustainable meals from different countries. This month, the dish will be a Venezuelan dish called pabellon criollo (rice and beans). The meal is open to the public at no charge; donations are welcome.
Women’s Healing Circle: Thursday, April 13, April 20 and April 27.
The Center will continue to host Dr. Maryam Mermay, as she leads a circle intended for women seeking to heal the loss of a loved one, a relationship, an ability, a home, a sense of self or any other sources of grief, through a connection with the arts.
What’s Cooking?: Tuesday, April 12.
The Center will host Cindy Gelinas for a cooking class, and cupcake decorating for Easter.
Easter Egg Decorating: Thursday, April 13.
Participants may bring their own eggs to decorate for Easter. The Center will provide some eggs.
Learn to Scrap Book: Wednesday, April 15.
The Center’s companions will assist with easy scrapbooking.
Spa Day Giveaway Trivia Games: Friday, April 19.
Join the Center for trivia games and prizes.
Bingo: Tuesday, April 25.
Art Van: Wednesday, April 26.
April Birthday Celebration: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 26.
April birthdays will be celebrated.
Clothing Giveaway: Thursday, April 27.
The center will hold a clothing giveaway during a daylong event.
Singing Circle: 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 27.
Participants will sing empowering songs with sisters, followed by a simple shared meal.
All women are welcome; programs are offered free and no appointments are needed. Oatmeal breakfasts are available daily, and the center has a shower.
