Citizens to thank town manager
POLAND — An open house to recognize Bradley Plante’s services as Poland town manager will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at the Old District 22 Schoolhouse, home of Poland Historical Society, on Poland Corner.
All citizens of Poland are invited.
Irish Set Dancers offering free classes
AUBURN — The Irish Set Dancers will offer a series of free dance classes for new students.
Set dancing is popular worldwide, done in “sets” of four, six or eight dancers. The steps are simple, set to jigs, reels and polka music. The moves are called, so there is no need to memorize routines.
Classes are offered from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays, April 24, to May 22, at Edward Little High School. Everyone, teens to seniors, are welcomed to join in for an evening of exercise and friendship.

Gould to speak to AHS
AUBURN — Androscoggin Historical Society will host Deborah Gould at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at the society’s headquarters in the Androscoggin County Courthouse.
Gould will read selections from her social history novel, “The Eastern: The Early Years.” In the early 1800s, five families settle along the Eastern River in Pittston.
There is no admission charge; donations are accepted.
Tri-Town Penguins to meet
DURHAM — The Tri-Town Penguins Snowmobile Club of Durham, Freeport and Pownal meets at 7 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month, September to April, at the Durham Fire Station at 615 Hallowell Road.
The final meeting of the year will be April 25. New members are always welcome.

Organic gardening forum April 25
LEWISTON — The Ark & Olive Branch Cafe will host an organic gardening forum at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at 791 Lisbon St.
A panel of four experienced organic gardeners will include Michael and Sonya Tardif, Eden Life Style Sanctuary & Community Garden and Taste of Eden Vegan Cafe in Norway; Dr. Greg Penner, Home Organic Gardening; and Kim Mazone, educator consultant.
This event is geared toward beginner and experienced organic gardeners. Those attending should bring questions.
The event is free. There will be door prizes and seeds for sale.

AUBURN — The United New Auburn Association meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Rolly’s Diner.
Sabattus Seniors to meet
SABATTUS — The Sabattus Seniors will meet Thursday, May 4, at Maxwell-Gill Hall.
The meal for this meeting will be spaghetti with meat sauce, and reservations are required by Thursday, April 27, by contacting 207-375-4037.
On the agenda for the meeting is a change to the club bylaws to either abolish them or make changes.
