Virtual school information session

AUBURN — Maine Connections Academy, a first tuition-free, virtual public charter school for grades seven through 12, is currently accepting applications for the 2017-2018 school year.

An information session for prospective students and families will be held at the at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 24, at the Residence Inn, 670 Turner St.

Star Teachings of TEA

SUMNER — The public is invited to the Star Teachings of TEA, a community dedicated to practicing kindness.

TEAs are where the group shares time, Earth and air. They are in circle format where everyone is invited to share stories, wisdom and ask questions in a space of openness and receiving.

The next TEA will be held from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, April 30, at 1122 Main St., Route 219.

POLAND — The annual meeting of the directors and officers of the Pine Grove Cemetery Corp oration of Poland will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at 67 Strout Road.

Catholic Charities Child & Adult Care Food Program provides monthly reimbursement checks to licensed day care providers for feeding healthy and nutritious meals and snacks.

CACFP is the largest sponsor of day care nutrition reimbursement in the state and is a USDA program. Day cares can receive reimbursement by contacting Catholic Charities.

No spring clean-up in Wilton

WILTON — The town of Wilton has announced that it will not hold a spring clean-up of street sweepings and lawn rakings.

Residents may bring their lawn materials to the Wilton Transfer Station between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesdays.

UMF courses open to public

FARMINGTON — University of Maine at Farmington 2017 May and summer term courses are now open for registration by members of the public not currently enrolled at UMF. Spaces are available in a wide variety of classroom and online courses in education, human services and arts and sciences.

Members of the public can pre-register for any course online by adding it to the online book bag. They will then be contacted by a representative from the UMF Merrill Center.

The deadline for course registration is the first day of classes. Classes are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Legion seeks fair vendors

DIXFIELD — The Dixfield American Legion will hold a spring fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29. 

Vendor space is available at $15 for one table or $25 for two tables.
