BATH — Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District is hosting a hands-on, interactive forestry workshop on May 9.
The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Middle Hoerth Winter Gardens, 108 Varney Mill Road in Bath.
Co-sponsored by Time and Tide RC&D Council, this workshop will cover topics including tree planting and transplanting, tree pruning and browntail moth control.
Presenters Jennifer and Tom Hoerth, owners of Middle Hoerth Winter Gardens, have owned their farm for five years, and have more than 35 years in the horticulture, agriculture and arboriculture industries. Other planned presenters include Maine Forest Service and regional forestry/arborist expertise.
If you have your own pruning tools, please feel free to bring them along.
Space is limited and registration is due by May 5. Cost is $20 per person. Registration includes lunch and class materials. Refunds will not be given.
Parking is available on-site.
