DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have many friends and others who give me can tabs for the Shriners hospital in Massachusetts. Where is a good place to redeem these tabs to get the best refund? — John, Rumford.
ANSWER: Sun Spots cannot say for sure who will give you the best price for your aluminum tabs but will offer a few places to contact to compare. Let them know that it is for charity and that the proceeds are to be donated to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
* Schnitzer (previously Maine Metal Recycling) in Auburn will redeem aluminum tabs. It is at 522 Washington St. N. and can be reached at 207-786-3531. Hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.;
* West Paris Metals Recycling, 36 Maple St. in West Paris, buys aluminum. Call 207-674-2100 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m; and
* Kennebec Metal Recyclers, 14 Brown St. in Skowhegan, also buys aluminum. Call 207-474-6988 Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
If anyone has other metal recycling facilities to recommend that would pay for aluminum tabs, please contact Sun Spots.

DEAR SUNSPOTS: I want to start a Sjogren’s Syndrome support group in Central Maine. To my knowledge, one does not exist. Please write me at percysburrow@gmail.com if you would like to join the support group, would like to learn more information or if you would like to contribute information on this disabling autoimmune disease. April is National Sjogren’s Syndrome Awareness month and the Foundation has lots of information on its website at www.sjogrens.org. I will organize a Walk-About for the end of the month to raise awareness. Thank you. — Laurie St. Pierre, no town.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I hope the wonderful person who found my purse in a shopping cart outside Wal-Mart on April 7 reads this — I am more grateful than you could know! God bless you. — No name, Lisbon Falls.
