CHESTERVILLE — The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously Thursday night to accept a $5,000 mowing bid from a Livermore Falls company.
Selectman Edward Hastings IV said Michael Webber, owner of Mike’s Lawn Care, was the only bidder to include a payment schedule as requested, and he has done the town mowing in the past.
Webber bid $1,500 to mow the Town Office, ball field and Fire Station, $3,500 to mow town cemeteries, the Veterans’ Monument and the triangle. Payments of $1,250 are due June 1, July 1, Aug. 1 and Sept. 1.
Other bids were from:
• Don Oliver Lawn Care and Back Hoe of Chesterville for $1,200 to mow the Town Office, ball field and Fire Station; and
• Renshaw Property Helpers of Freeman Township bid $4,575 for the cemeteries, $125 per mowing at the Town Office, $120 per mowing at the Fire Station and $100 per mowing for the ball field.
A fourth bid found at the Town Office on Thursday morning was not opened because bids were due by 4 p.m. Wednesday.
