LEWISTON — Nancy L. Ellis, 81, of Jay and formerly of Dixfield, died Sunday, April 30, at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.

She was born in Mexico on Aug. 27, 1935, the daughter of Lorne and Gladys (Buckingham) MacConaghy, and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1953.

Nancy was the customer service manager at Zayre in Rumford and then for Ames for many years. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially her flower gardens and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was married in Rumford on June 8, 1957, to Charles E. Ellis Jr. of Jay, who survives. Other survivors include daughters, Trudi Meserve and husband, William, of Jay and Jill Leland and husband, Walter, of Steep Falls; sons, David Ellis and wife, Lisa, of Turner, Kurt Ellis and wife, Sarah, of Lewiston, and Ray Ellis of Laconia, N.H.; 10 grandchildren, Audrey, D.J., Beth, Natalie, Kristen, Shayna, Cody, Kayla, Carli, and Jacob; and three great-grandchildren, Layla, Norah and Hunter.

She was predeceased by siblings Robert MacConaghy, Joan Pittman, Viola Whytock and Sally Child.
