Teacher grant recipients listed
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Education Fund has announced the funding of teacher grants for the 2016-2017 grant cycle.
Stephen Belleau, Gifted and Talented program, Jenn Carter, Lewiston Middle School, Stephanie Couture, Lewiston Middle School, Tiffany Demarest, Montello, Kathy Heermann, Longley, and Stephen Moore, Lewiston Middle School, were each awarded funding for their proposals to expand educational opportunities for Lewiston students.
The mini-grants represent innovative and creative educational experiences developed by Lewiston teachers to challenge students and enhance their learning opportunities.
The Lewiston Education Fund looks forward to presenting the grants to the teachers in the coming months. The board will be fundraising for future grant cycles, with the first Glow Ball Scramble at Apple Valley Golf Course on Saturday, June 17.

Food pantry seeks donations
AUBURN — The High Street Congregational Church Food Pantry has ongoing needs for the following items: peanut butter, canned vegetables, soup, canned pasta, canned meats, canned fruit, dry cereal, baking items, soup, crackers and toilet paper.
Auburn United Methodist Church collects items for the pantry. Donations may be brought to 439 Park Ave.

Cribbage league lists winners
LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners on April 27 were, first, Norm Bissonnette and Sandra Oliver; second, Anita Maheux and Henry Maheux; third, Terry Chambers and Bob Laplante; fourth, Marie Madore and Dick Saucier; and, fifth, Don Haley and Bob Masse.
Games are played on Thursdays at the Lewiston Memorial Armory.
