BETHEL — The Telstar softball squad picked up a load of Heal points on Tuesday, rallying back from a four-run deficit to post a 6-5 win over Oak Hill.

Josie Forbes belted a well-timed two-run double to ignite a four-run fourth inning for the Rebels (5-1). Forbes finished with two hits and three RBIs, while Aneah Bartlett pounded out two hits.

The Raiders (4-1) were led by Kiera Young and Mahala Smith with two hits each. Kylee Martin gave up nine hits while earning the win, while sisters Sadie and Charlotte Waterman handled pitching duties for Oak Hill.

Fryeburg 4, Wells 3

FRYEBURG — Paige O’Donnell belted a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth to give Fryeburg a 4-3 win over Wells in a hard-fought mid-season softball tilt Tuesday.

Mackenzie Buzzell, Nicole Bennett and Makayla Cooper led Fryeburg with two hits each. Sam Bogue led the way for Wells with a pair of hits.

Bennett earned the win for Fryeburg with a solid effort in the circle.

Oxford Hills 12, Cony 4

PARIS — Freshman pitcher Lauren Merrill had an outstanding game, going 4-for-4 at the plate, and earning the complete game victory as Oxford Hills dispatched Cony 12-4 in softball action Tuesday afternoon.

The Vikings (4-2) put eight runs on the board in the first wo innings. Senior catcher Anna Piirainen contributed a home run and drove in four for Oxford Hills.

Jaden Bowley had a round tripper for the Rams (2-3) in the losing effort.

Monmouth 6, Winthrop 5 (8 inn.)

READFIELD — Junior third baseman Hannah Anderson went 5-for-5 and blasted a home run to lead Monmouth to a 6-5 victory in eight innings over Winthrop in softball action Tuesday afternoon.

The Mustangs (6-1) had 17 hits and left 14 on base. Junior pitcher Emily Chasse collected three hits and earned the win on the mound for Monmouth.

The Ramblers (4-2) had given up three runs in the top of the sixth inning and trailed 5-2 when senior left fielder Molly Glaser launched a three-run shot to tie the game.

Baseball

Lisbon 10, Mt. Abram 0

LISBON — Noah Francis hurled four innings of two-hit ball and drew ample run support as Lisbon overpowered Mt. Abram, 10-0, in a mid-season baseball tilt Tuesday.

Sean Scott led the Greyhounds (5-1) with three hits and two RBIs, while Noah Austin scored three runs, had two hits and drove in a run.

George Werzanski suffered the loss for winless Mt. Abram (0-6) after working the first four frames.

Richmond 13, Rangeley 0

RANGELEY — Junior pitcher Zach Small tossed a no-hitter and recorded 12 strike outs as Richmond blanked Rangeley 13-0 in baseball action Tuesday afternoon.

The Bobcats (6-1) had seven hits and took advantage of seven errors. First baseman Donny Stewart had a single and a double as did Small to account for four of Richmond’s hits.

Junior pitcher Bo Beaulieu suffered the loss for the Lakers (3-2).

Oxford Hills 1, Cony 0

PARIS — Sophomore first baseman Ashton Kennison smashed a double in the second inning to plate the only run of a pitcher’s duel as Oxford Hills clippped Cony 1-0 in baaseball action Tuesday afternoon.

Junior pitcher Troy Jackson struck out four and tossed a complete game two-hitter in just an hour and ten minutes for the Vikings (5-1).

Senior pitcher Kolbe Merfeld gave up just four hits for the Ram’s (1-4) in the losing effort.

Telstar 14, Oak Hill 4

BETHEL — Josh Eliot and Reid Cote battled it out on the mound through the first four innings. But, the Rebels got to Cote in the bottom of the fifth to open the game up as Telstar cruised to a 14-4 victory over Oak Hill in baseball action Tuesday afternoon.

Boston Ludden crushed a double to drive in a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for the Rebels to invoke the 10-run mercy rule.

Relief pitcher Tanner Wheeler came on to shut the door on the Raiders in the sixth.
