Parade committee seeks marchers

NEW GLOUCESTER — A Memorial Day parade will take place at 9 a.m Monday, May 29. The committee is seeking Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, churches, veterans groups, police and fire departments, antique vehicles and people from the community to march in the parade.

The parade will start at the Lynn-Hunnewell AMVETS Post No. 6, with parade line-up at 8 a.m. The step-off will be at 9 a.m. marching to Monument Park followed by the Memorial Day service. After the service, the parade will march back by the route of Peacock Hill Road and turn left onto Hatch Road/Gilmore Road, and finish at the Post.

This is a day to honor veterans that have served the country and to remember loved ones.

AUBURN — The American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Unit No. 31 will hold an indoor yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday, June 17, at the Post, 426 Washington St. North.

Tables are available for rent on a first-come basis. One 6-foot table rental is $15. Applications are required.

Star Teachings of TEA 

TURNER — Star Teachings of TEA will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 21, by the river at the boat dock, Riverlands State Park, Center Bridge Road.

The event will take place rain or shine.

Farmington Historical Society meeting

FARMINGTON — A Farmington Historical Society meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Monday, May 22, at the North Church, 118 High St.

The event will begin with a potluck. The meeting and program will follow.

The program will be “Revisiting Jacob Abbott and his Stories,” a presentation by FHS members featuring books for summer reading.

Teddy Bear Scramble seeking runners

GRAY — The 12th annual Teddy Bear Scramble for the Children’s Dyslexia Center of Portland will start at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Spring Meadows Golf Club at Cole Farms, Route 100.

Sign-ups begin at 7 a.m.
