Western Maine Market open house
FREEMAN — An Open house for Western Maine Market, Franklin County’s year-round online farmers’ market, will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 21, at Rasmussen Farm, 21 Schoolhouse Road.
The event will be a celebration of a new growing and market season and an opportunity to introduce others to the market. It will provide a chance to meet and chat with several vendors, enjoy free local food and take a tour of Rasmussen Farm.
The event is free and open to the public. Fiddleheads and other products will be available for sale. A drawing will be held for WMM gift certificates.

Farmington Historical Society meeting
FARMINGTON — A Farmington Historical Society meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Monday, May 22, at the North Church, 118 High St.
The event will begin with a potluck. The meeting and program will follow.
The program will be “Revisiting Jacob Abbott and his Stories,” a presentation by FHS members featuring books for summer reading.
Community mental health programs
RUMFORD — In recognition of May being Mental Health Month, NAMI Western Mountains Maine affiliate and the Farmington and Mexico NAMI support groups will sponsor NAMI’s Free Suicide Prevention and Awareness program for parents, community groups, businesses, school staff, and any other interested adults.
The program will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, at the Mountain Valley High School cafeteria. Several area mental health agencies will have displays, too.
NAMI will also have an information booth at its car wash on Saturday, May 27, which will raise funds to help bring mental health events, speakers and programs to this area.
Later, in June, two NAMI Youth Mental Health First Aid courses will be offered, first on June 20 at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington and on June 27 at the Rumford Point Church in Rumford.

Cancer support group
NORWAY — The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine has announced changes in the Men’s Cancer Support Group.
This group, hosted by Vance Jordan and Nel Bernard, will be called the Men’s Rally Group and meet from 4 to 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, May 23, at the Center, 199 Main St.
Hosts Vance Jordan and Nel Bernard will be available to meet men coping with cancer and their spouses or caregivers to answer questions and seek advice from those attending about what their needs are.
A chair massage by Nel Bernard, LMT, will also be available, no appointment is necessary.
Light snacks will be provided.

Rumford Seniors to tour Shaker Village
PERU — Rumford Seniors will bus to the Shaker Village at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 14.
Cost is $32 for members or $37 for nonmembers. The tour has two flights of stairs. A no-stairs tour is available for $3 less.
Sign up is required by Wednesday, May 24.
Star Teachings of TEA
PARIS — Star Teachings of TEA will meet from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, at the Paris Public Library, 37 Market Square, Route 26.
The gathering will be in circle format, where everyone is invited to share kindness, wisdom, and questions in the space of openness and receiving, without judgment.
Food pantry meeting May 24
NORWAY — The Oxford Hills Food Pantry will hold its annual meeting at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 24, in the hall of the Episcopal Church, 35 Paris St.
The meeting is open to the public.
