Memorial Day is set aside to remember servicemen who gave their lives in the belief that they were acting to support freedom and justice. A suitable memorial would be for all of us to do our part to reduce conflict and injustice throughout the world.

We can teach peace in our homes, welcome refugees, support international diplomacy, encourage use of our resources for world health, over-population, climate disasters, famine and economic injustices — which are the root causes of warfare.

Let us honor the fallen with renewed efforts at peacemaking.
