A Lewiston man pleaded guilty Wednesday in federal court to robbing a Lewiston credit union earlier this year.
According to a news release from acting U.S. Attorney Richard W. Murphy, Brent Roaix, 33, of 76 Elm St., Lewiston, pleaded guilty to robbing a federally-insured credit union Jan. 25.
Court records show that Roaix gave a handwritten note to a teller at Rainbow Federal Credit Union on Main Street in Lewiston demanding money and stating that he was armed.
The teller gave him money and he fled on foot. A short while later, local police found him hiding in a nearby apartment on Wakefield Street, arrested him and recovered all the stolen money.
Roaix faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release. He will be sentenced after the completion of a presentence investigation report by the U.S. Probation Office.
The investigation was conducted by the Lewiston Police Department and the FBI, according to the release.
