TOPSHAM — Christine Chasse, Morgan Eliasen and Rachel Ouellette each had a hat trick in Lewiston’s 14-5 victory over Mt. Ararat in girls’ lacrosse action Wednesday.
The win clinches a spot for the Blue Devils (8-4) in the KVAC championship game against Messalonskee at Thomas College on Saturday.
Eliasen also added an assist. Shaima Naji and Dacia Bail each had a goal and assist. Julia St. Laurent, Sasha Leclair and Katie Lemieux had a goal apiece, and Erin Lachance contributed two assists.
Emily Welch scored all five of the Eagles’ goals.
CeCe Racine made eight saves for the Blue Devils, while Casi Perow made 13 for Mt. Ararat (2-10).
Softball
Leavitt 6, Spruce Mountain 3
JAY — Hannah Chounard had five hits for Leavitt in a 6-3 victory over Spruce Mountain in a KVAC softball contest Wednesday.
Chounard had four singles and a double while recording an RBI in the fourth and seventh innings. The Hornets improve to 10-6 on the season.
Alex Bessey had an RBI double in the fifth inning for the Phoenix (2-14). Callie Baker had two singles.
Fryeburg 12, Freeport 0, 5 innings
FRYEBURG — Mackenzie Buzzell and Makayla Cooper paced Fryeburg’s offense attack with three hits a piece in a 12-0 softball victory over Freeport on Wednesday.
Fryeburg scored four runs in the bottom of the first, highlighted by a two-run double by Kaylee Emery. The Raiders put up four more runs in the second inning, with a two-run double by Nicole Bennett followed by another double by Makayla Cooper. Bennett pitched five innings and allowed only one hit while striking out five.
Fryeburg improves to 11-3 and Freeport drops to 2-14.
