AUBURN — Marilyn June (Rollins) Hamel, 62, of Ellsworth, passed away Tuesday, May 30, with the loving support of her family, at Clover Manor Nursing Home, Auburn.
She was born in Brunswick, Dec. 30, 1954, the daughter of Carlton and Marion (Blackwell) Rollins Sr. She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1973 and from Ashford University in Iowa. On May 21, 1976, she married Keith Hamel of Bethel.
She was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ and she enjoyed the ocean, crafts, sewing, her dog (Otis), talking to old friends on Facebook, but most of all she enjoyed raising her two sons, and spending time with her grandchildren who she adored.
Marilyn worked as a special needs teacher at Crescent Park School in Bethel for 15 years. She also taught in Andover and Sullivan.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Keith; sons, Joshua and Matthew; her mother, Marion (Blackwell) Rollins; five siblings, Carlton Jr. and his wife, Nada, Patricia; Bruce and wife, Brinda; Lee and his wife, Diane; Brian and his wife, Shellaine; her grandchildren, Aden, Kaleb, Dylan and Olivia; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Carlton Rollins Sr.
