FARMINGTON — Maynard H. Farrington, 81, a resident of Jay, passed away Monday, June 12, at Franklin Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
He was born May 24, 1936, in Dryden, the son of Harold and Dorothy (Williams) Farrington. Maynard graduated from Jay High School in 1954. On June 24, 1961, he married Judy Brown in Livermore Falls. Maynard was a passionate outdoors man who loved hunting and fishing, as well as working in the woods. He spent his childhood on a farm and never lost his love of gardening and animals. Maynard was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was employed by International Paper Company at the Otis and Androscoggin mills for many years and was a member of the International Paper Quarter Century Club.
Maynard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy B. Farrington of Jay; and his children, Scott H. Farrington and his wife, Jennifer, of Jay, Melanie Farrington of Arlington, Va., and Dennis Farrington of Wilton; his siblings, Virginia Sawtelle of Winthrop, Barbara Farrington, Glenda Farrington and Sharon Farrington, all of Bean’s Corner, and Wayne Farrington and his wife, Bobbie, of Gray; and his granddaughter, Megan Chase and her wife, Heather, of Lyman.
Maynard was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Dorothy Farrington, sisters; Norma Tenney and Frances Billingsly; and a brother, Kenneth Farrington.
Maynard’s humor and kindness will be remembered by all that knew him.
