AUBURN — Jean B. Murray, 88, a longtime resident of Turner, passed away Saturday, July 8, at Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn.
She was born April 20, 1929, in Lewiston, the daughter of Leonard W. Bonney and Olive (Jones) Bonney. Jean was a 1946 graduate of Leavitt Institute in Turner. On August 14, 1948, she married Oliver “Gus” Murray. Together they owned and operated Murray Oil Company in Turner. Gus passed away May 7, 2008.
Jean enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved to play golf and ride on a motorcycle, and she had a great love for traveling and adventure. She couldn’t wait to see what was around the next corner, and she never met a stranger. Jean touched many, many lives.
She is survived by her son, Randy Murray and his wife, Mary, of Turner; her beloved grand-dog, Annie Mae; two daughters, Bonney Murray of Turner, and Colleen Calhoun and her husband, Jim, of Florida; grandsons, Jonathan Murray and his fiancée, Laurie Donavan, of Turner, and Jared Murray and his wife, Krista, of Turner; a granddaughter, Jennifer Dinovelli of California; great-grandsons, Aidan Murray of Turner, and Jack Murray of Turner; her magnificent other, George White of Turner; her brother, Weston Bonney of Portland; and sister, Kathleen Matthews of New Hampshire; and her nephew, Dana Longway and wife, Tina, of Turner.
