ATHOL, MASS. — Ronald T. Coyne, 79, passed away on June 20, 2017, after succumbing to multiple strokes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Beverley J. Coyne; his children, Scott A. Coyne, Deborah L. George, Pamela J. Colarusso, and Sharon A. Loewy; and his seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who will miss him for eternity.
He was born to Anne and Russell Coyne in Lewiston in 1937 and lived in Ashland, Mass., most of his life, moving to Athol in 2002.
After graduation from the U.S. Army Intelligence School in Fort Holabird, Md., he served as a sergeant at the Boston Army Base 108th INTC Group and also Second USA Research Group, Fort Meade, Md., from 1955-1965.
Fond memories of him playing with trains, his love for historical facts and watching the Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins will comfort us. He enjoyed long drives to seek out beautiful places and good diners for eats and ice cream. Ron and Bev also enjoyed the company of their cats and time at their cottages in Monmouth and Norway.
