LEWISTON — Henry Auclair, 92, of Lewiston, passed away Tuesday, July 11, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Jackman on June 30, 1925, the son of the late Louis and Marie (Pomerleau) Auclair.

He attended local schools, graduating from Lewiston High School. Following graduation he joined the U.S. Army, serving his country in The European Campaign in Rhineland and Central Europe as a rifle marksman, during WWII. After the war, he received his honorable discharge in 1945.

On Sept. 9, 1950, he married Pauline, the love of his life.Together they worked and raised their young family in Lewiston.

Henry was a member of the Lewiston Fire Department for 24 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church until its closing several years ago. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Elks Club. He enjoyed hunting, playing golf and bridge, but he especially enjoyed his time spent with his family.

Henry is survived by two sons, John and his wife, Shirley Auclair, of Troutman, N.C., and Stephen and his wife, Philippa, of Auburn; and three grandchildren, Melissa, Melanie and Benjamin.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Pauline, and grandson, Joey Auclair.
