Tour 19th-century rural Maine
LIVERMORE — The Washburn-Norlands Living History Center is open for tours on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in July and August.
Visitors may stop by between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and journey back to 1870. Tours will show the Washburn family mansion and farmer’s cottage, the one-room schoolhouse, and historic carriage trails. They may bring picnics to enjoy on the grounds. Tours cost $10 per person and $6 for those 12 and younger. Norlands is located at 290 Norlands Road.

Christmas in July at Worthley Pond
PERU — Worthly Pond will celebrate Christmas in July Friday to Sunday, July 21 to 23.
Cottages and ponds will be decorated in the spirit of Christmas, and boats will be cruising the pond decorated in the Christmas spirit.
Decorated boats may line up in front of the Snowshoe Club Beach at 9 p.m., which will be followed by the judging of the cottages. Boaters must register at the Worthley Pond Campers Association Gift Store at Horey Run.
Texas Hold’em poker tournament
LOCKE MILLS — Texas Hold’em will be played Monday, July 24, at Jackson-Silver Post 68, 595 Gore Road.
Doors will open at 5 p.m., and games will begin at 7 p.m. There will be a 50/50, pull tabs, and refreshments available.
Farmington Historical Society to meet
FARMINGTON — Farmington Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, July 24, at the North Church, 118 High St.
A potluck will be followed by a short meeting and annual elections.
This month’s program is “Memories of a Young Model of Chester Greenwood’s Earmuffs,” which will be presented by Betty Houle.
The public is welcome.
Historical Society, Kay House meeting
OXFORD — The Oxford Historical Society and Kay House Museum will hold the monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 26, at the Kay House Museum, 73 Pleasant St.
The guest speaker will be Susan Denison, presenting “Early Industries of Norway and surrounding area,” immediately following the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
Light refreshments will also be provided. The public is welcome, and anyone can join the Society for an annual fee of $5.
The Oxford Historical Society isseeking donations for its annual yard sale that will be held Aug. 5.

Bethel Seniors to meet
HANOVER — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Stony Brook Campground for the meeting and dinner.
Members will bring either a salad or dessert to share.

Golf tournament benefiting Shriners
RANGELEY — The 23rd annual Western Mountain Shrine Club Golf Tournament will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 11, at Mingo Springs Golf Course.
Men, women or mixed foursomes are welcome. Participants do not need to be a Shriner to play.
The four-player team scramble will include prizes for longest drive, closest to the pin as well as first, second and third place team finishes.
Proceeds will benefit Western Mountain Shrine Club Golf Tournament.
