JAY — Wendy Louise Douglass, 51, of Jay passed away in her home between July 10 and July 11 of 2017.
Born in Lewiston on Feb. 6, 1966, to Cynthia and Gary Mulherin Sr., Wendy graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1984.
She has been working as produce manager at her local Food City in Livermore Falls for the past five years. Wendy had a passion for cooking and would often bake desserts for local restaurants. She would also do small catering events, whether it was for a wedding or as simple as a few pies come the Thanksgiving holiday.
Wendy also volunteered her time on Thanksgiving with one of her best friends at the Readfield United Methodist Church, where she regularly attended Bible studies and Sunday services. They made sure those that did not have anywhere to go during the holiday had a full belly. Wendy was also known for helping whoever was in need of a good meal or needed assistance cleaning their home. It did not matter who you were, or what your story was. She had a huge heart of gold.
Wendy was predeceased by her father, Gary Mulherin Sr.
She is survived by her children, Jessica and James Douglass; her mother, Cynthia Mulherin; her brothers, Todd, Gary Jr., and Timothy Mulherin; as well as her sister, Brenda Emmons; and her three nieces and four nephews.
