Dressed in a chicken suit, Principal Shawn Vincent waves goodbye to Bruce M. Whittier Middle School and Poland Regional High School students during the last week of the school year. Whittier students met their annual goal of reading and logging 1,500 books and were rewarded with the opportunity to create a challenge for their principal. This year, they chose to have Vincent wear the chicken suit for the day. Librarian Julie Purdy and her assistant, Jill Olson-Mills, totaled 2,281 books read by Whittier students.
