MANCHESTER, N.H. — Jeremy Barfield hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning, leading the Portland Sea Dogs to an 8-4 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Monday.
The home run by Barfield gave the Sea Dogs an 8-4 lead and capped a five-run inning for Portland. Earlier in the inning, Portland tied the game when Chad De La Guerra hit an RBI double and then took the lead when Michael Chavis hit an RBI single.
Starter Trey Ball (4-9) got the win while John Straka (1-2) took the loss in relief in the Eastern League game.
In the losing effort, New Hampshire got contributions throughout its order, as five players had at least two hits. Harold Ramirez homered and singled twice, driving in four runs.
