LIVERMORE FALLS — The Treat Memorial Library Summer Reading Program, “Build a Better World,” is coming to a close. Children have been building, creating, crafting and reading all summer.
Now it is almost time to celebrate the summer readers. They should turn in their reading logs by Saturday, Aug. 5. The library will celebrate accomplishments at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Summer Reading Program finale.
The Book Club will continue its Jazz Age series with Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning “The Color Purple.” Those who would like a copy of the book should ask staff. A discussion will take place at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10.
Teen Writers, for writers of any genre ages 12 to 18, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Aug. 8 and 22.
Preschool Story Time will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays and will feature stories, songs, rhymes, activities and crafts.
The Lego Club will meet at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 19. Builders’ structures will be on display in the library until the next meeting. Participants can make something unique and take it home on Creative Craft Day on Saturday, Aug. 26. Drop in for crafting anytime from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
