LEWISTON — Anne Marie Bisson Lyford, 92, longtime resident of Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, at Montello Manor in Lewiston, where she lived for the past several years.
She was born in Rumford on September 1, 1924, a daughter of Rene and Mary (Gallant) DesRoches.
Marie was educated in Mexico schools and was a graduate of Mexico High School.
She married Edwin F. Bisson on April 2, 1944. He passed away in 1977.
Marie later married Roland Lyford in August 1985; he passed away in 2002.
She was employed as a receptionist at Rumford Hospital for many years.
Marie was a communicant of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.
She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, fishing and traveling, and while married to Roland, she spent winters in Zephyrhills, Florida.
Marie also enjoyed cooking and visiting with friends at McDonald’s.
Surviving are her children, Judith A. Bisson of Glendale, Ariz., Edwin J. Bisson and wife, Brenda, of West Bath, and Stephen Bisson of Toledo, Ohio; a sister, Vivian Calden of Topsham; three grandchildren, Brooke Hubner and husband, Devon, David Bisson and companion, Karen Moran Thomas, and Kayla Matthews and husband, Clayton III; and five great-grandchildren, Nora and Evelyn Bisson, Clayton, Gavin and London Matthews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her first husband, Edwin F. Bisson; her second husband, Roland Lyford; a son, William Bisson; a brother, John DesRoches; and two sisters, Mary Rozella Perry and Marjorie Cartwright.
