WATERFORD — The Waterford Grange will host a combined craft and yard sale from 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, July 28 and 29 and Aug. 4 and 5, on Route 35 beside the North Waterford Post Office.
Craft items will feature a wide variety of hand knit hats and mittens, as well as many other items ideal for that early Christmas shopping.
Yard Sale items include a large assortment of puzzles, baskets, picture frames, pocketbooks, sports bags, and glassware, books and more.
Donations will be accepted. All proceeds go toward suporting local charities and renovating the Grange’s historic building.

PARIS — The Paris Public Library will hold its annual used book sale Wednesday, Aug. 2, and Saturdays, July 29 and Aug. 5 and 12.
The Wednesday sale is 5 to 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The sale will be at the Deering Memorial Community Center, 39 Main St.
Hardcover books will sell for $1 each, trade paperbacks for 50 cents each, and mass market paperbacks for 25 cents each on the first three days of the sale. For the Aug. 12 bag sale, a standard plastic grocery bag may be filled with any sale items for $1.
The money raised supports the library’s children’s collection.
A bake sale is also being held July 29 to raise money for children’s programs.
Donations toward the book sale may be brought to the library when it is open. Pick-up of contributions can be arranged by contacting the library’s staff.

WATERFORD — The Wilkins Community House will hold an indoor yard sale during the Waterford Summer Breakfast in its cool basement from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the foot of Plummer Hill Road next to the Waterford Congregational Church.
A future indoor yard sales will coincide with breakfast on Wednesday, Aug. 16.
Proceeds will go to the maintenance funds for the Wilkins Community House and the Waterford Congregational Church.

WAYNE — The Cary’s Silent Auction will launch with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, serving wine and light hors d’oeuvres.
The auction will be set up at the Cary Library’s Williams House, showcasing the varied donations that have arrived this year.
Many are estate items, and a number of fine old pieces from Wayne Village Pottery will be auctioned. Handcrafted needlework, framed art, china, pottery and “attic treasures” from all over Wayne will be displayed.
A children’s area will feature a dollhouse and the “special edition” handmade Phoebe and Phillip (phoebe chicks) and storybook to accompany them. There will be lots of buy-it-now items, some quirky, some one-of-a-kind, such as a Kawartha 15-foot square stern canoe with working engine.
A pair of Red Sox/Yankee tickets for the 7 p.m. Aug. 19 game at Fenway will be auctioned. Another offering will be a two-night stay in Gettysburg, plus guided tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield.
Auction hours will be during most hours when library is open. For those planning to attend the Cary Festival & Lobster Roll Lunch on Saturday, Aug. 5, the auction will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for browsing. Bidding concludes at noon Saturday, Aug. 12.
Auction hours are: Aug. 3, 5 to 7 p.m.; Aug. 5, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Aug. 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Aug. 8, 4 to 6 p.m.; Aug. 9, 1 to 7 p.m.; Aug. 10, 4 to 6 p.m.; and Aug. 12, 9 a.m. until closing bell at noon.
