We have freedom of speech in this country, but what about freedom from hate speech?
I have a Facebook page and I post a lot of my thoughts and political leanings. I get trashed a lot for my views and I delete offensive remarks from my page. I also block those who get nasty, and believe me there are way too many of these people.
I have twice as many blocked people as I have friends. Now I find according to the ACLU that they have a right to come on Paul LePage’s Facebook page and vilify him?
I think the ACLU is going too far on this one. I think the person who is running the Paul LePage Facebook page has every right to delete nasty remarks. I think they often go too far and need to be removed, whether it’s a government-run page or not.
And, so I will continue to delete and block nastiness on my page as well.
