DEAR SUN SPOTS: I need your help again! I have subscribed to the Sun Journal for many, many years. Now that the paper has been sold, will Sun Spots stay? The Costello family thanked their customers for their faithfulness for years, but did not share if there would be changes.

I’m also hoping you can find two addresses for me. I would appreciate the addresses for CNN and MSNBC. Both stations have news I enjoy.

Hope you can help me and I certainly hope Sun Spots will be staying in the Sun Journal!

–No Name, No Town

ANSWER: Sun Spots is a very popular long-running column and it’s going strong! Every single day readers write in about how much they like Sun Spots and how much they depend on it. Mrs. Sun Spots is very happy about the job security and that she is able to help so many people. She isn’t perfect, however, nor is she a total genius! Sometimes it takes her a while to find the right answers and sometimes she doesn’t get it quite right. This is where you, the reader comes in. The success of Sun Spots depends on all of you coming to the rescue with your recommendations, advice, comments, and experiences. Thank you for sharing your expertise and not being shy about asking questions. Curiosity makes the world go ‘round and nothing makes Mrs. Sun Spots happier than a full inbox of questions AND answers!

As to your other questions, to contact CNN, send a letter to their main headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia: CNN, One CNN Center, Atlanta, GA, 30303.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Store Next Door Project at Lewiston High School is preparing for the start of its 11th school year and needs your help to keep its doors open! The Store assists students in staying in school by helping to eliminate barriers to education. We offer clothing, shoes, food, toiletries and school supplies at no cost to hundreds of fine young people each year. A bank of gift cards to local businesses helps meet immediate needs as well. We also support students who have achieved their high school diploma in transitioning to college and work. This project has been very successful in the past due to the ongoing support of our larger Lewiston/Auburn community. We ask once again that you consider this worthy cause. Donations can be dropped off at Lewiston High School Monday through Friday, 8AM-3PM, or mailed c/o Mary Seaman, 156 East Avenue, Lewiston ME 04240. 755-7252 for more information.

–Mary, no town

ANSWER: What a wonderful way to support our young people. Your generosity will help so much. This is a great model for other schools, too. Does anyone know if other schools in Maine are doing something similar? I’d love to know!
