HARRISON — The final concert of the 45th anniversary season of the Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival, Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Deertrees Theater, will be both grand and exuberant in a true sense of celebration.
From Beethoven’s divine Quintet for Piano and Winds to Gershwin’s remarkable “Rhapsody in Blue” to Martin?’s delightful Flute Trio to Poulenc’s irrepressible Sextet, this sparkling musical journey will lift up every listener’s spirit.
The program, “Celebration,” comprises Beethoven: Quintet for Piano and Winds in E-Flat Major, Op. 16; Gershwin: “Rhapsody in Blue” for Piano Four-hands; Martinu: Trio for Flute, Cello and Piano; and Poulenc: Sextet for Piano and Winds.
Performers are Mihae Lee, music director and pianist; Yuri Funahashi, pianist and assistant professor of music at Colby College; Stephen Taylor, solo oboist with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center; Alan Kay, principal clarinetist and an artistic director of Orpheus Chamber Orchestra;William Purvis, French horn soloist and member of the New York Woodwind Quintet; Adrian Morejon, bassoonist of the Dorian Wind Quintet; flutist Susan Rotholz and cellist Eliot Bailen, co-founders of the Sherman Chamber Ensemble.
