EAST DIXFIELD — Police raided a home on Rollins Ridge Road early Thursday morning, arresting three and reportedly seizing more than 80 grams of crack cocaine.
Jody Welch, the 41-year-old owner of the home, was arrested on a charge of aggravated drug trafficking.
Renee Speranza, 26, and Adam Turner, 34, both of Peru, were arrested on charges of unlawful possession of scheduled drugs.
State police and agents from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency went to the home at about 4:20 a.m. as part of an investigation into interstate trafficking of cocaine and heroin, officials said in a news release.
Police said Welch was at home with eight other people when agents arrived. Seized in the raid were 83 grams of crack valued at approximately $8,000, according to the release, along with scales, plastic bags and other paraphernalia.
Investigators said a makeshift drug processing and packaging room had been set up inside the house.
Welch, Speranza and Turner were taken to the Oxford County jail. Speranza and Turner were later released on bail with a court date set for Oct. 23. Welch remained in custody Friday with bail set at $10,000 cash.
Dixfield, Rumford and Jay police assisted with the search of the home, along with deputies from the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department.
Police said more arrests are likely as the MDEA investigation continues.
