MEXICO — The Board of Selectmen is now accepting nominations for recognizing citizens and employees of Mexico. The following categories are part of this year’s Night of Appreciation ceremony:
Employee of the Year: The award will be presented to a full-time employee who provides services to the community in the most exemplified way and who provides efficient, friendly and prompt service to the general public.
Part-time/Reserve Employee of the Year: This award will be presented to a part-time/reserve/or call-man who provides services to the community in the most exemplified way and who provides efficient, friendly and prompt service to the general public.
Volunteer of the Year: This award will be presented to a citizen who has been involved in the community with extensive volunteerism throughout the year in any way. Marjorie Harlow won the award last year.
Citizen of the Year: This award will be presented to a citizen who has accomplished a task within the community that has touched the lives of many and/or something that has created a positive effect in the town. Last year’s recipient was Rollie Bousquet, who has done a lot for veterans and throughout the community.
Submit written nomination(s) by 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, addressed in a sealed envelope to the Mexico Board of Selectmen, P.O. Box 251, Mexico, ME 04257. Indicate nomination selection(s): ATTN: Employee of the Year; ATTN: Part-time/ Reserve/Call Man of the Year; ATTN: Volunteer of the Year; ATTN: Citizen of the Year.
