FARMINGTON — Dogs, their owners and anyone else interested in helping the animals are invited to Strut for Strays! on Saturday, Sept. 30, meeting at 10:30 a.m. at Titcomb Mountain Lodge, 180 Ski Slope Road.
The Franklin County Animal Shelter needs help to provide care and a safe space for the stray and abandoned animals in the community. The bulk of funding comes from the community in the form of donations, fundraisers and adoption fees. That’s why fundraising events are important.
Community members and their furry friends will run and walk the Nordic trails of Titcomb Mountain and the Whistlestop Trail during the annual Strut for Strays! 5K Trail Run & Dog Walk.
Last year, the shelter raised over $1,500 in sponsorships, registration fees and donations. This year, they hope to surpass that.
The shelter is looking for businesses to sponsor the race monetarily or to donate items or prizes as race incentives.
Registration is $20 for age 12 and under, $25 for 13 and up, and all registrations include an event T-shirt with logo custom designed by Catherine Chapman. Additional shirts, long-sleeved Ts and hoodies can also be purchased along with race registration, online or at the shelter.
