WATERFORD — The final Waterford Summer Breakfast of the season will be served from 7:30 to 10 a.m Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the Wilkins Community House at the foot of Plummer Hill Road next to the Waterford Congregational Church.
While the breakfasts are happening on the main floor, the cool basement of the Wilkins House will be the site of an indoor yard sale from 7:30 to 11 a.m.
Volunteers are needed to work during the breakfast. Those interested should contact 207-583-7357.
Proceeds from the summer breakfasts help with the upkeep of the Wilkins Community House. Income from the yard sales goes to the maintenance funds for the Wilkins Community House and the Waterford Congregational Church.

MECHANIC FALLS — The Anglican Church and the Mechanic Falls Historical Society are sponsoring an ice cream social at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 17, at the Anglican Church, 64 Elm St.
A Barbershop Quartet, part of the Downeaster Chorus, will initiate the event in the church hall. The four members of the quartet are Marshall Wagner of Gray, Jack Higgs of Windham, Wally Duplessie of Windham and Gran Barrows from Dover, New Hampshire.
Afterwards, people will be able to concoct their own special ice cream dessert.
Tickets may be purchased in advance. Proceeds are to raise funds for the 160-year-old church building.

HARRISON — The next “famous” chicken pie supper will be served Saturday, Aug. 19, at Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church. Seatings will be held at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., with a third to accommodate guests if necessary.
Proceeds from this supper will be dedicated to providing scholarships for children wishing to go to Camp Mechuwana this summer, a United Methodist Camp in Maine.
The church hosts the chicken pie suppers on the third Saturday of the month through October. The Church is handicap accessible. Pies will be sold at the supper if available.
Reservations will be taken only on Saturday morning, the day of the supper, between 9 a.m. and noon.
