WILTON — A 30-day comment period on the Forster Mill plan ends when the town office closes at 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 18.
Public comment — good or bad — is needed as part of the $200,000 federal Brownsfields Grant the town received from the Environmental Protection Agency.
The 30-day period began with a public meeting held on Tuesday, July 18, when environmental consultant Nick Sabatine of Ransom Consulting Engineers and scientists from Portland discussed the next steps needed at the site on Depot Street.
The Analysis of Brownfield Cleanup Alternatives is available at the Town Office for public review and comment.
Once the 30-day period is over, the plans for asbestos abatement and demolition can move forward, Town Manager Rhonda Irish said Tuesday.
