FAYETTE — The Kennebec Land Trust will hold its annual meeting on Sunday, Aug. 20, at Camp Winnebago on Echo Lake.
The meeting will start with KLT’s Tri-Sport Challenge, which consists of a swim, paddle and run. The annual gathering will feature two workshops, a live screen-printing demo and creation of nature journals, and a wildflower identification walk; a potluck lunch and cookout; and recognition of the 2017 land donors, John and Lisa Rosmarin and Saunders Family Forest, Readfield.
The 342-acre Rosmarin and Saunders Family Forest conserves extensive woodlands and wetlands in Readfield. The conservation property will be a demonstration site for sustainable forestry, and will be managed to protect wildlife habitat and water quality, and to provide outdoor recreation opportunities for the community. The southern boundary of the forest is close to KLT’s Macdonald Woods Conservation Area and the Readfield Town Forest.
