I have been a resident of Lewiston-Auburn all of my life. I was a proud member of Lewiston High School’s state championship ski team in 1967 and am looking forward to my 50th class reunion.

I urge fellow Auburn residents to remember Auburn’s city motto — “No steps backward.”

One other thought when considering the proposed merger: Does Auburn really need a rain tax?
