SOUTH CHINA — Kaitlyn Leclerc had two first-half goals as Leavitt shut out Erskine Academy, 3-0.
Hailey Janosco scored in the second half. Kayla Leclerc had an assist on Kaitlyn’s first goal for the Hornets (1-0).
Hailey DeMascio saw no shots in the Hornets’ net. Lucy Allen was busy for Erskine (0-1), making 23 saves on 26 shots.
St. Dom’s 13, Traip 0
KITTERY — Hannah Trottier-Braun had six goals while Paige Cote and Kylie Leavitt had six assists each in a 13-0 St. Dom’s victory over Traip Academy.
Paige Cote and Caroline Johnson had a pair of goals each, while Anna Cote and Bailey Desrosiers netted one each.
Goaltender Abby Slonina didn’t see a shot for the Saints, while Nichole Roberts had 25 saves for Traip Academy (0-1).
Cape Elizabeth 3, Gray-New Gloucester 0
GRAY — Emi Logue had a pair of goals in Cape Elizabeth’s victory over Gray-New Gloucester in a WMC field hockey contest Thursday. Isabel Berman had a goal while Kaitlin Norrad chipped in with an assist.
The Capers (1-0) outshot the Patriots 16-3 in the game. Alicia Credit made 11 saves for Gray-New Gloucester. Haley McIntyre made three saves for Cape Elizabeth.
Cony 4, Edward Little 1
AUGUSTA — Julia Reny scored twice to pace Cony to a 4-1 victory over Edward Little. Kami Lambert and Allee Cloutier each had a goal for the Rams while Anna Reny and Faith Pouliot each had an assist.
Oceania Chamberlain potted the only goal for Edward Little (0-1), which was set up by Anna LeBlanc.
Cony (1-0) fired 37 shots on keeper Elise Syphers, who made 23 saves for EL. The only shot for the Red Eddies went into the cage.
Brunswick 1, Oxford Hills 0
BRUNSWICK — Brunswick had ten shots on goal and Shea Sullivan’s was the one to find the back of the cage as Brunswick defeated Oxford Hills 1-0. Hollie Imperato had the assist
Brunswick (1-0) starts the season with a win for the first time in four seasons and for the first win against Oxford Hills in five seasons.
Oxford Hills (0-1) had its chances, with nine shots on goal. Brunswick keeper Ainsley Harrower had three saves in the first half, and Libby Felkay had four saves in the second for the Dragons.
Mt. Ararat 6, Lewiston 0
TOPSHAM — Wyley Fitzpatrick scored twice as Mt. Ararat ran away with a 6-0 victory.
Brynn Charron, Tegan Byrne, Abby Hagan and Kelsea Dwelley each had a tally for the Eagles (1-0).
Lewiston starts the season 0-1.
Yarmouth 2, Poland 1
YARMOUTH — In a tight WMC contest, Yarmouth came away with a 2-1 victory over Poland.
Kristen Thomas picked up the Clippers’ first goal and Lydia Guay notched the game-winner. Bri Doucette potted the Knights’ goal.
Yarmouth is now 1-0, while Poland drops to 0-1.
