AMVETS Post 777 to meet
PARIS — AMVETS Post 777, which serves Oxford Hills, holds monthly meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month at the American Legion, 22 Church St.
Meetings are open to all veterans.

West Paris Downhill Derby Sept. 9
WEST PARIS — The West Paris Downhill Derby will race on Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Downhill Derby site on Kingsbury Street.
The rain date will be Sunday, Aug. 13.
Anyone age 7 and older is welcome to participate, and some derby cars are available to use for those who do not have a car.
Registration is at 9 a.m. Refreshments will be available at the snack shack.

Honey Bee Club to meet
PARIS — Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the Oxford County Extension Center, 9 Olson Road.
Weather permitting, there will be an open hive. Members should bring veils.

Household hazardous waste drop-off
JAY — Household hazardous waste, including latex and oil-based paints, will be accepted at the Jay Transfer Station from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 672 Main St.
The program is offered by AVCOG Western Maine Environmental Depot.
