YORK — Trailing 28-14 in the third quarter, Leavitt piled up 41 unanswered points to defeat York, 55-34, in a Class C South shootout Friday night.
York took a 21-14 lead with 12 seconds left in the first half on a 17-yard TD pass from Payton Small to Riley Linn, then made it a two-touchdown cushion on Jake Martin’s 62-yard touchdown run.
The Hornets started buzzing back with a 48-yard TD pass from Tim Albert to Bryce Hudson, then took advantage of three York mistakes — a shanked punt, fumble and blocked punt by Cam Jordan — to take a 41-28 lead.
