LEWISTON — The Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District is offering two free irrigation workshops during September.
Session 1: “Introduction to Irrigation Systems and the Importance of Understanding Soils” will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Sept. 18, at the USDA Service Center, 254 Goddard Road.
Session 2: “Irrigation Methods — The Tools for Understanding How Much Water & When to Apply” will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Sept. 25, at New Roots Farm, 954 College St.
Presenters will include Candi Gilpartric, agricultural engineer for NRCS; Dave Rocque, state soil scientist for the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry; and Manuel Diaz, agricultural engineer for NRCS.
The workshops will be offered simultaneously in English and in Maay Maay.
