DEAR SUN SPOTS: We are looking for infant sleepers (pajamas with feet) for a project for Harvest Fest, a school fundraiser on Sept. 30. If anyone would like to donate, it would be greatly appreciated. Please drop off the sleepers at Park Avenue Elementary School in Auburn or call 577-7051. — Gina, no town
ANSWER: These infant “footie pajamas” are used to make “pumpkin babies.” The pjs are stuffed with hay to make bodies and are topped off with a pumpkin head. Gina says, “Everybody loves them.” Money from this PTO fundraiser from the sale of these mini-scarecrows, as well as other Harvest Fest activities, goes to field trips, assemblies, the arts and more.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Lewiston High School’s Visual Arts Department is seeking donations of ceramic slip molds and oil painting supplies. Donations can be dropped off at the high school c/o Nathaniel Meyer or pickup can be arranged. Please call 671-6290. Thanks! — Nathaniel, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We are looking for someone who was in the 1952-1953 class of West Peru Elementary School and has a class picture including Harold Leroy Wing. Please contact Robert Dolloff at shirleydolloff@yahoo.com or call 562-7141. — Bob, no town
ANSWER: I’m happy to help. I’m assuming you’ve checked into the archives at Dirigo Elementary School and the historic documents that the Friends of Peru Elementary School may have. Keep up the good work with writing about and archiving all these important facts and memories. What you are doing is very important!
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for all you do to help the public. I have dug up a large perennial garden. If anyone is interested in having the plants, they will need to pick them up and will need a truck. I can be reached at 946-4011. — No name, Greene
ANSWER: Wowsers! What a great opportunity for someone with a green thumb. I can only guess at what treasures will be found. It’s not very often that someone is giving away a garden.
