PARIS — On Saturday, Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m., Celebration Barn Theater presents an evening with singer-songwriter Ellis Paul, including the opportunity to attend a limited sound check party before the show.

Ellis Paul is one of New England’s most gifted singer-songwriters. Though some may refer to him as a folksinger, he is more, for lack of a better word, a singular storyteller, a musician whose words reach out from inside and yet also express the feelings, thoughts and sensibilities that most people can relate to in one way or another, regardless of age or upbringing. Paul’s singular style has made him a staple at the Newport Folk Festival. He has played Carnegie Hall and venues from Alaska to Miami, from Paris to London.

Audience members are invited to join Paul for an intimate sound-check party at 6 p.m., before the doors open to the general public.

Opening act Tod Pronto is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Newport, Vermont. Pronto has recorded three albums of original music to date including his album “Nashville Stereo,” that was recorded in Nashville for “B-Venturous Records” and his new self-produced album,”It Can’t All Be Wrong.” These days Pronto’s music combines folk, roots music, country, rock, and blues to create a unique blend of Americana music. His live show combines his originals along with his fun and unique brand of storytelling.

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 the day of the show and $35 including a VIP ticket to the soundcheck party at 6 p.m. All tickets are general admission; members receive priority seating. Lobby and concessions open at 6:30 p.m. Purchasing tickets in advance is strongly recommended.
