AUBURN — The Auburn Recreation Department is offering Lunch ‘N Learns to senior citizens age 50 or older from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Tuesday beginning Oct. 3 at the Auburn Senior Community Center in Pettengill Park.
The cost is $5 a person. Register at the Auburn Rec Department in advance. Topics and menus include:
Oct. 3 — Medicare Open Enrollment presented by SeniorsPlus. Lunch: Ham and cheese sandwich, chips, pickle, beverage and dessert.
Oct. 10 — Hand Print Craft presented by Jan Biron. Lunch: Grilled cheese with tomato soup, beverage and dessert.
Oct. 17 — Basic Crochet presented by Rina Cloutier. Lunch: Egg salad sandwich, chips, pickle, beverage and dessert.
Oct. 24 — Medicare information and financial advice presented by Jennifer Uwaechia, Medicare specialist. Lunch: Tuna fish sandwich, chips, pickle, beverage and dessert.
Oct. 31 — Osteoporosis/bone health, presented by Dr. Laura Glaser. Lunch: Clam chowder, crackers, beverage and dessert
The Auburn Rec Department will also offer monthly suppers for seniors from 4 to 6 p.m. on select Thursdays beginning Oct. 26 the Auburn Senior Community Center in Pettengill Park. Cost is $10. Dates and menus are:
Thursday, Oct. 26 — Stuffed green peppers, rolls and butter, coffee/tea and dessert.
Thursday, Nov. 30 — Boiled ham, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, rolls and butter, coffee/tea and dessert.
Thursday, Dec. 14 — Spaghetti and meatballs, salad, bread and butter, coffee/tea and dessert.
Register at the Auburn Rec Department in advance. Anyone age 50 or older is welcome to attend.
